Hanns Eisler was one of Arnold Schönberg’s most important students. A politically alert artist, he championed the ideals of communism and took a stand against National Socialism and every form of injustice. This concert places Eisler’s music at the center of a series of committed works that were created equally in resistance to violence and fascism as they express hope for a better world.
